Guy-Raymond Engineering are a King’s Lynn based manufacturer of wheel castors and components for the office, medical and retail industries across the globe. In late 2020 APS completed a transformation of their canteen into a contemporary staff room with wash room facilities. The space was redesigned to fit the needs of the company for the modern day by opening up the kitchen and dining space to provide an amazing breakout area. This was really brought to life with the addition of a new fitted kitchen, new instant boiling tap, new carpet and vinyl flooring and new WC and shower rooms. The new canteen shows Guy-Raymond’s commitment to staff welfare and is the perfect space for employees to rest during breaks or meet to collaborate together.
Being on the same industrial estate we knew of APS and had heard good things about other projects they had done for other firms locally. Through good use of space we have been able to increase the useful canteen floor space and install 2 new shower cubicles. When the room isn’t being used for lunches it has made a handy meeting room; the booths make an ideal space for informal meetings or team briefings.
The feedback from all staff has been really positive and more people are using the area than before! The contrast from the old set up which was reminiscent of a 60’s school dining room couldn’t be bigger! The new canteen is a more pleasant space for staff to relax which in turn means they come back from their lunch break more refreshed and more productive.
